Character agents
Study alongside those who already read this text
Each character agent reconstructs an author's documented METHOD: what they asked the text, in what order, with what emphases. Not a medium, not an impersonator — one more historical reading, with its corpus in plain sight.
- Method, not persona
- The agent never speaks in the author's first person or pretends to remember their life. It reproduces how they worked the text — the only thing they left in writing.
- Formed on real work
- Every card says which works the method was distilled from, with years and licence. It is not the library the agent searches: it is where its way of reading came from.
- No invented quotations
- Attributing a sentence requires a source retrieved on the spot. Without one, the agent describes the line of thought and says it is reconstruction.
The catalogue
Curated by Berea. Character agents are not self-published: putting words in a dead author's mouth demands a real corpus behind them.
